Oily Skin Can Be Eliminated Without Chemical Laden Treatments!
Thursday, January 26th, 2012Combination and oily skin may seem very different, but they do share some common points. For example, both skin types require similar forms of acne care, which means that they can also be treated with similar skin care products.
The trick here is to maintain a disciplined skin care routine. When trying to treat mild to moderate cases of acne (such as facial and back acne), a regular cleansing routine can be more effective than over the counter acne creams, however, you should keep in mind that severe forms of acne should be monitored and treated by a medical professional.
First Step: Cleansing Acne Prone Skin with an Oily Skin Cleanser
You can reduce clogged pores and slow down the overproduction of sebum with a soapy cleanser. This works for both oily and combination skin.
Now, please don’t confuse “soapy” with soap and water, they are not the same thing. In fact, using soap and water to cleanse your skin will most likely dry it out, unlike a soapy cleanser. This dryness will then trigger extra sebum production, which will subsequently lead to clogged pores and acne lesions.
Oily Skin and Acne Treatment
Contrary to popular belief, you can use a natural acne remedy to treat oily or combination skin. A great natural cleansers for oily skin is milk of magnesia. It’s quite simple to use, all you need to do is rub it on your skin and rinse off.
Second Step: Toning &Exfoliating
An effective daily cleansing routine will also require the use of a toner, however, if the cleanser you are using is good enough to clean your skin then it won’t be necessary to tone your skin. The one important part to using a toner is to make sure it is alcohol free.
The exfoliation of the skin however will be a requirement. This should be done at least once a week. If you find that your skin is still a bit dull, then you can try exfoliating twice a week.
Facial scrubs can be both good and bad. Both oily and combination skin can handle the cleansing tool, but only in a light manner. Don’t over-scrub . Also keep in mind that with excessive cleansing your skin will produce more sebum if it is scrubbed too hard.
Third Step: Use the Appropriate Moisturizer
Just because your skin is oily or combination doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be moisturized. These types of skin need a moisturizer for the same reason any skin does. However the type of moisturizer is recommended to be light and water based so it does not overly coat your skin.
Extra Step: How to Treat Spots with a Natural Acne Cream
For an acne remedy regime to be successful it should include an acne cream that can be used as a spot treatment. By using acne creams for spot treatment, you will be able to help boost the effectiveness of your daily cleansing routine and minimize any possible irritation produced to healthy skin.
